Why I Design National Park Art, Prints & More

Zion National Park – The Heart Behind the Art

Nine years ago, I went on a seemingly normal trip that ended up changing my life. I’m sure we’ve all been there at some point, right?

Some friends and I took a road trip to Zion National Park to run a half-marathon. This trip was full of some radical sights and solid food and great hangs with my buds. Little did I know that one of these “buds” would end up being my future husband, the dad to my kids, you get the jist. This trip was the catalyst for our relationship, and if it wasn’t for a half-marathon in beautiful Zion National Park, who knows where we’d be now. Shoutout to Zion, you’re a great matchmaker.

Over the years, I’ve found that so many of you share similar stories and sentiments for the wonderful national parks in our country. Whether it’s that you were proposed to in Yosemite or vacationed with your family in the Badlands or had your love for all that is grand and beautiful awakened by the Rocky Mountains, we all have made super special memories in these places.

We All Share These Parks and Stories

Because of these memories and stories, I’m donating 5% of all sales on all my national park prints to the National Parks Conservation Association from here on out. We love these parks, you love these parks, so why not help conserve them? These places have nurtured us, healed us, and offered us life-changing experiences. The least we can do is love them back through conservation and practicing nature preserving habits when we’re out on the trails! Check out this article by the National Park Service for tips and advice on how to hike smart.

The Mayfly Project

Plus, I’ve partnered with the Mayfly Project, and 1% of all my sales will be donated to them. The Mayfly Project uses fly-fishing as a way to mentor children in foster care! They seek to use fly-fishing as a catalyst to connect kids in foster care with the outdoors, build confidence, and offer them a fun and safe place to develop a new hobby. If you’re interested in supporting the Mayfly Project directly, click on the link at the start of this paragraph.

I’ve got all kinds of park prints to choose from on my website, and I hope you find the perfect one for your living room, office space, bedroom, etc. The world’s your oyster! Links can be found below.

Cheers to loving, experiencing, and preserving these life-giving spaces. Now, get out there and enjoy some good ol’ nature! Bring a buddy! Or, two! Or, three! Maybe one of ‘em will end up being your future honey.
